Affirming Support for Kids & Youth
Neuronest is dedicated to providing inclusive counselling and education services for young people. Neurodiversity-affirming care is practiced in a kind, safe, and accepting space where strengths and differences are celebrated. Our goal is not to change the person, but to adapt the systems around them and develop coping strategies that promote well-being and authenticity. Self-understanding, self-compassion, and sensory-based regulation are the priority.

Lyndsey Cox (she/her)
RCC, MC, BEd, BSc
My name is Lyndsey, and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and BC Certified Teacher. I am thrilled to be offering in-person counselling services in Victoria's Westshore, in addition to virtual services in BC and overseas. I have worked in counselling and education for 15 years, initially as a middle school teacher, then as a school counsellor, and now in private practice. I have extensive experience working with young neurodivergent people, particularly in the context of school-based challenges.

I use an integrated approach that is person-centered and strengths-based. All techniques are adjusted to accommodate individual needs. I draw primarily from self-compassion, internal family systems, play therapy, and EMDR for processing trauma . My practice is culturally-sensitive, sensory-friendly, and supportive of all genders, sexualities, and romantic preferences.
A true understanding of neurodivergence can best be achieved through lived experience. I am late-diagnosed ND myself, with two ND children and personal experience with autism, ADHD, and PDA.

PD for Educators
Educators hold immense power within the school system to shape the social-emotional well-being of students. However, many educators receive limited training on neurodiversity and the unique ways neurodivergent students experience and engage with the world.

As a neurodivergent educator, I’ve developed free training materials that offer practical, accessible strategies for implementing neurodiversity-affirming practices.
These resources are beneficial for teachers, counselors, and any community leaders committed to reducing ableism and fostering inclusive, supportive environments for all students.
